LAW 6267 - Eminent Domain in Texas

Students will learn about the entire eminent domain process in Texas, which affects countless landowners every year, including condemnations for pipelines, power lines, roadways, and more. Students will finish the course with an in-depth understanding of the unique administrative rules that apply to condemnation cases. Students will also develop the skill set to analyze, identify, and confront the issues facing a practitioner in an eminent proceeding, starting from the survey process to jury verdict. Students will be presented with an array of potential topics for their final paper or may choose a topic of personal interest to them.
