About the School of Veterinary Medicine Graduate Programs

The Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine is a research-intensive academic unit built to reflect the school’s value-based culture and mission, a commitment to excellence. Students are empowered with academic freedom to pursue the broadest ideals of scholarship that align with the school’s five areas of research emphasis: One Health; Disease Ecology, Management, and Prevention; Andragogical Scholarship; Sustainability of Animal Agriculture; and Molecular Mechanisms of Disease.

The School of Veterinary Medicine offers a Ph.D. in One Health Sciences. This program meets the current demand for an interdisciplinary/interprofessional approach to improve public health. The program is designed to train scientists with a broader vision of One Health, interfacing animal, human, and ecological health from local and global perspectives and everything in between.

Additionally, the School of Veterinary Medicine offers a Spanish for Specific Purposes Certificate Program, supporting the overall Texas Tech status as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI).
