About the Department
This department supervises the following degree programs:
Minors
The department offers six minors: Geography and the Environment , Geology , Geophysics , Atmospheric Science , Geographic Information Science and Technology , and a Composite Minor in Geosciences . The residency requirement for all minors is 6 hours.
Teacher Education
The department cooperates with the College of Education in preparing individuals for science certification in the programs in Education (middle-level education) and Multidisciplinary Science (composite science certification). The student should consult the College of Education and the Department of Geosciences for requirements. Geography coursework is included in the social science composite field certification program in secondary education. Specific course requirements for this program may be obtained in the department.
