About the School of Law

Texas Tech University’s School of Law is known for its practical approach to legal education, which helps students succeed from day one. With a strong clinical program serving low-income clients in the West Texas area, a nationally competitive advocacy program, and award-winning law journals, students have countless opportunities to build real-world skills. The National Jurist regularly ranks Texas Tech as a “Best Value” because of its competitive tuition and high bar exam pass rate.

What truly sets Texas Tech Law apart is its people. Here, law students and professors build meaningful relationships that go beyond the classroom. Faculty members are passionate about teaching, mentoring, and supporting students every step of the way. The Law School offers a range of student support programs, from academic success resources and bar prep courses to career services and wellness initiatives, ensuring students have the tools they need to succeed.

Texas Tech Law reserves the right to deny admission to applicants who, in the judgment of the admissions committee, appear to be unfit in character to engage in the study or practice of law.
