Mathematics: Data Science Concentration, B.A. or B.S.

The Data Science Concentration is designed to provide mathematics majors with a solid foundation in statistics and mathematical computation. Students are required to take two mathematical computing courses (MATH 3430  and MATH 4330 ), two statistics courses (MATH 4342  and MATH 4343 ), a numerical analysis course (MATH 4310  or MATH 4312 ), and a special topics course covering a data science topic (MATH 4000 ). The MATH 4000 course can be replaced by CS 3361 - Concepts of Programming Languages  or an equivalent course, as determined and approved by the department.
