Students working toward a M.S.C.E. specialize in one of the principal subdisciplines of civil engineering (e.g., environmental engineering, structural engineering, construction engineering and management) in this degree program. Two degree options are available: (1) the thesis option allows students to complete 24 hours of coursework, perform 6 credit hours of independent research, and write a thesis based on the findings of the research, and (2) the report option requires students to complete 30 hours of coursework and write a report on a selected topic.
