About the Nutrition Undergraduate Minor
A student may minor in nutrition by completing a minimum of 18 hours of selected coursework. Specific courses for the nutrition minor are finalized and approved by the student in conjunction with the major and minor advisors. Required courses are NS 1410 - Science of Nutrition and NS 3340 - Nutrition in the Lifecycle and an additional four courses from the following list: NS 2310 , NS 2330 , NS 2380 , NS 3310 ,* NS 3325 , NS 3332 , NS 4220 , NS 4301 , NS 4330 , and NS 4350 to equal a minimum of 18 hours. A minimum of 9 upper-level hours must be completed for the minor in nutrition. This minor can be completed online. For additional information see http://www.depts.ttu.edu/hs/ns/minor.php.
* NS 3310 - Introduction to Medical Nutrition Therapy is highly recommended for those pursuing degrees with a pre-professional health focus. Students will acquire experience with patient assessment, reading labs, electronic charting, interprofessional health care interaction, and application of medical cases through case study scenarios.
