About the Agricultural Education, B.S.: Concentration in Agricultural Leadership
Agricultural leadership allows students to understand the complexities of agriculture and blends the understanding of working with people and having an understanding of the food, agriculture, human sciences, and natural resources industry. The leadership component of the degree challenges students to engage in personal leadership development, leadership theory, organizational leadership, effective group and team leadership, diversity and inclusion leadership in an agricultural context, global leadership, change management, contemporary issues in agriculture, and creating the capacity for students to do an internship focused on leadership objectives. Students select technical agricultural courses that allow them to specialize in areas of interest and to reinforce their general knowledge of the agricultural industry. Examples of careers in agricultural leadership include leadership specialists, human resources, policy and government relations, nonprofits, sales, management, and careers in law and public service and a variety of preparation for professional and graduate schools. Agricultural leadership majors understand the human connections behind the work that occurs across the agricultural industry and understand the dynamic theories and leadership approaches to working across business, communities, and systems to advance the agricultural industry and its people.
Communication Literacy Requirement. Communication Literacy courses for the Agricultural Education: Agricultural Leadership major are AGLS 1300 ; ACOM 2302 or ENGL 2311 ; AGLS 4309 .

Agriculture Electives
* Agriculture Electives: 3 hours must be from ANSC, 3 hours must be from PSS, and 3 hours must be from NRM. At least 9 hours of Agriculture Electives must be 3000/4000 level courses. All Agriculture Electives must be within the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources or be transferred into the college as an approved equivalent.
