About the Honors Sciences and the Humanities, B.S. Program


The Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Honors Sciences and the Humanities (HSH) with a concentration in Environmental Science & the Humanities is designed for capable, curious students who are interested in pursuing a broad and challenging course of study that will prepare them for a variety of careers and a lifetime of active citizenship. With its foundation in the sciences, the degree focuses on the study of the human relationship to the environment. Courses draw upon science, engineering, philosophy, and literature and the arts. Honors students delve profoundly into environmental sciences through the historic relationship between human beings and their surroundings. Many university graduates change careers several times during their lives. Therefore, this degree also emphasizes marketable skills that are portable, such as critical thinking, writing, and problem solving, that ready students for a broad range of career options.
