Early Childhood Education and Family Policy Graduate Certificate

About the Early Childhood Education and Family Policy Graduate Certificate

The Early Childhood Education and Family Policy certificate program is a 12-hour inter-institutional program offered through the Innovative Digital Education Alliance (IDEA, formerly GPIDEA), a consortium of multiple high-quality universities. This program equips individuals who are committed to working on behalf of diverse children and families in pedagogical and non-pedagogical contexts to evaluate, inform, create, and advocate for quality policies. Students will study, analyze, and evaluate family policies relevant to young children and families including health care, education, childcare, family leave, mental health, child abuse and neglect, incarceration of parents, and minimum wage. The ECFP graduate certificate seeks to prepare a diverse workforce who will think differently, lead in new ways, and tackle the policy, infrastructure, and advocacy challenges inspired by the present era of early childhood efforts. The courses are web-based, intensive 8-week courses designed so that two courses may be completed each semester. Visit www.gpidea.org for more information.
