About the Computer Science Accelerated Program

Undergraduate students who major in Computer Science may apply to our accelerated B.S. / M.S. in Computer Science program. The Accelerated Bachelor’s to Master’s in Computer Science allows qualified students to earn both degrees in a cost-effective and timely manner. Students in the program get an early start on master’s work by taking three graduate courses in their senior year, in place of three senior elective courses, to complete their B.S. degree. They then take the remaining graduate courses the following year to complete their M.S. degree with a thesis or non-thesis option. In other words, the accelerated program allows dual counts of 9 credit hours (three courses) to bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Students choosing the accelerated program should apply for the graduate component of the program, usually during the student’s third year of study.
