About the Political Science Accelerated Program

The accelerated B.A. / M.A. program is designed to provide an opportunity for qualified undergraduate political science majors to take graduate classes during their senior year. Nine credit hours earned from three core graduate courses (POLS 5381, POLS 5382, and POLS 5383) will count toward both graduate and undergraduate degree requirements, shortening the time to complete both B.A. and M.A. degrees. Applicants to the B.A. / M.A. program must meet certain requirements prior to entry into the program. First, B.A. / M.A. applicants must have a 3.5 GPA or higher in order to be considered for the program. Second, B.A. / M.A. applicants need to complete POLS 3314 prior to entering the program. Finally, B.A. / M.A. applicants should submit completed applications at least two months prior to beginning their senior year of undergraduate work.
