About the Computer Science BS: Cybersecurity Concentration
Cybersecurity focuses on the design, development, and deployment of comprehensive solutions and algorithms to protect cyber-infrastructure from attacks. This concentration creates the opportunity for students to achieve a fundamental level of understanding in cybersecurity through two core courses and three elective courses. Students pursuing their BS in Computer Science can apply for this optional concentration after officially declaring their major. Students must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours (five 3-hour courses) in the concentration area. Core classes to complete the cybersecurity concentration are CS 3350 and CS 4352 . Elective classes to complete the cybersecurity concentration include CS 4328 , CS 4380 , CS 4392 , CS 5340 , CS 5342 , CS 5352 , CS 5353 , CS 5361 , CS 5364 , CS 5380 , and CS 4331 when the topic is related to cybersecurity.
