About the Computer Science BS: Software Engineering Concentration
Software engineering focuses on software design, development, testing, and maintenance. This concentration creates the opportunity for students to achieve a fundamental level of understanding in software engineering through two core courses and three elective courses. Students pursuing their BS in Computer Science can apply for this optional concentration after officially declaring their major. Students must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours (five 3-hour courses) in the concentration area. Core classes to complete the Software Engineering concentration are CS 3365 and CS 3383 . Elective classes to complete the Software Engineering concentration include CS 4365 , CS 4395 , CS 4397 , CS 5320 , CS 5341 , CS 5357 , CS 5363 , CS 5373 , CS 5374 , and CS 4331 when the topic is related to software engineering.
