About the Computer Science BS: Data Science with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Concentration

Data Science with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning focuses on discovering insights out of data using a combination of software tools, programming techniques, and methodologies. This concentration creates the opportunity for students to achieve a fundamental level of understanding in data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) through two core courses and three elective courses. Students pursuing their BS in Computer Science can apply for this optional concentration after officially declaring their major. Students must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours (five 3-hour courses) in the concentration area. Core classes to complete the Data Science with AI and ML concentration are CS 3361  and CS 3364 . Elective classes to complete the Data Science with AI and ML concentration include CS 3366 , CS 3368 , CS 4391 , CS 5368 , CS 5388 , CS 5391 , CS 5392 , and CS 4331  when topic is related to data science, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.
