Theatre Arts and Dance Minors
Students working toward a minor in theatre arts or dance must complete a minimum of 18-24 hours of specific coursework. Hours applied to the minor area of study may not include courses used to fulfill requirements in the student’s major. Because each minor takes at least four long semesters to complete, students should begin the minor in theatre arts or dance as early as possible in their academic career. Prospective minors should meet with the theatre arts and dance advisor as soon as possible for course information regarding prerequisites, availability, etc.
About the Theatre Arts – Sound Design Undergraduate Minor
This minor is ideal for those interested in understanding differential approaches to storytelling through the medium of theatrical sound design, which includes elements of both technical study, environmental soundscape design, sound reinforcement for live performance, mixing, and digital/electronic manipulation of sound for consumption for application in theatre and the entertainment industries.
