Computer Engineering, M.S.


About the Computer Engineering Master’s Program


Non-Thesis Option. Students must take 36 credit hours (plus 1 credit hour per semester of graduate seminar) of coursework. Eighteen of the 36 credit hours consist of ECE 5371 , ECE 5380 , ECE 5375 , ECE 5332  (Advanced Design Lab), CS 5352 , CS 5377 . Eighteen of the 36 credit hours consist of electives selected from a list available through the ECE graduate advisor. Six of the 36 credit hours may be ECE 5331 - Individual Studies in Engineering Applications . Students must pass the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination or a comprehensive oral examination. 

Thesis Option. Students must take 30 credit hours (plus 1 credit hour per semester of graduate seminar), including 24 credit hours of coursework and 6 credit hours of ECE 6000 - Master’s Thesis . Eighteen of the 24 credit hours consist of ECE 5371 , ECE 5380 , ECE 5375 , ECE 5332  (Advanced Design Lab), CS 5352 , CS 5377 . Six of the 24 credit hours consist of electives selected from a list available through the ECE graduate advisor. Three of the 24 credit hours may be ECE 5331 - Individual Studies in Engineering Applications . Students must complete a thesis, deliver an oral presentation of the results, and pass the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination or a comprehensive oral examination.
