About the Religious Studies Undergraduate Minor Program

The College of Arts & Sciences offers an interdisciplinary minor in religious studies. This program brings together courses on religion from anthropology, classics, English, history, philosophy, psychology, and sociology to provide students with a broad understanding of religion and its importance to the human experience. To complete the minor in religious studies, students must complete 18 hours of courses approved by the program directors. All students are required to take 6 hours of CLAS 2302 , CLAS 3370 , or PHIL 2350 . No more than 12 hours of coursework from one program can be counted toward the minor. Students must receive a grade of C or better in all courses applied toward the minor. Other applicable courses not on the list of approved coursework may be counted toward the minor at the director’s discretion, including special topics courses or Honors seminars.
