About the Curriculum and Instruction Master’s Program


The Department of Curriculum and Instruction offers a 36-hour master’s degree that is designed to meet the diverse needs of professional educators in elementary, secondary, and post-secondary education. Thesis and non-thesis options are available.

The 36-semester-hour degree plan includes core and specialty courses. Coursework provides students with opportunities to develop, understand, and apply various curricular, pedagogical, and assessment models in educational contexts. Students can choose the general option or a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction in the following areas: Curriculum Studies/Teacher Education, STEM Education, Bilingual and ESL Education, Blended and Personalized Learning, and Language and Literacy. The department offers only online options for students to complete this degree. Prospective students are required to have an undergraduate degree before applying to this master’s the program.
