About the Health and Human Sciences Undergraduate Minor


The 18-hour Health and Human Sciences minor/concentration develops interdisciplinary knowledge and skills that promote health and well-being across a variety of dimensions. Aminimum 2.0 GPA is required, but students must also satisfy the GPA requirements for specific courses.

Required courses (6 hours):


Health and Human Sciences Electives (12 hours; at least 6 hours must be at the junior-senior level; prerequisites may apply):


Choose four courses from the following disciplines:

  • Addictive disorders and recovery studies
  • Apparel design and manufacturing
  • Counseling and addiction recovery sciences
  • Family and consumer sciences 
  • Human development and family sciences
  • Human sciences
  • Interior design
  • Nutritional sciences
  • Personal finance
  • Personal financial planning
  • Restaurant, hotel, and institutional management
  • Retail management

Substitutions from other health and human sciences related areas will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
