About the Online + Applied Personal Finance, B.S.

The Bachelor of Science in Applied Personal Finance is designed for students who wish to pursue career opportunities in various channels in the financial management services industry. It provides flexibility for students to explore personal finance applications for consumer financial services companies, banks, credit unions, financial literacy education, non-profits, government/military, and private practice as an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®). AFC® certification is nationally recognized and is not regulated by state licensure boards.

Students are required to complete all major-related coursework. Students must complete the core curriculum required by the university for a total of 120 semester hours. This program is offered in an online format.

Communication Literacy Requirement. Communication literacy in the Bachelor of Science in Applied Personal Finance is evidenced by competence in listening, writing, presenting, and reading. The required communication courses in this degree are PFI 1305 , PFI 3322 , and PFI 4330 .
