About the Construction Engineering Technology BS
The Construction Engineering Technology program equips students with the knowledge and technical skills necessary to plan, manage, and execute construction projects effectively. Combining principles of engineering with practical construction techniques, the program emphasizes areas such as structural design, construction materials, surveying, project management, safety protocols, and cost estimation.
Students gain hands-on experience through labs, simulations, and fieldwork, fostering critical problem-solving and teamwork skills. The curriculum integrates cutting-edge technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), preparing graduates to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving industry.
Graduates are well-prepared for careers in construction management, site supervision, cost estimating, quality control, and other specialized roles in residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. The program is designed to meet industry standards and provide pathways for professional certifications and continued education.
Communication Literacy Requirement. CL courses for the Construction Engineering Technology major are CONE 4300 , CONE 4324 , and COET 4304 .
