About the Esports Undergraduate Minor
The Esports minor prepares students for careers in the rapidly growing esports industry by combining foundational knowledge, hands-on media skills, and professional experience in the continually evolving ecosystem of the esports workforce. Open to all majors, the program explores the cultural, economic, and communication aspects of esports while providing practical training in media production and event management. Students complete courses in esports fundamentals, a practicum, and an internship, along with electives in areas such as sports advertising, gaming culture, social media influencing, and sports journalism. Graduates will be equipped to navigate the intersection of esports, media, and society as players, managers, communicators, and industry professionals. Required Courses (9 hours):
