The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) is a separate institution in the Texas Tech University System and includes the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Health Professions, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and School of Pharmacy. Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso is also a separate institution and includes the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine and the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing. Together, the two TTUHSC institutions meet the health care needs of more than 2.5 million people who live throughout a vast 108-county area stretching from the Texas Panhandle south to the Permian Basin and west into Eastern New Mexico. TTUHSC also has regional campuses in Abilene, Amarillo, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Midland/Odessa.

This catalog section highlights the TTUHSC programs that cooperate with Texas Tech University to offer undergraduate and graduate programs in selected areas related to the health sciences. TTUHSC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate, master’s, and doctorate degrees and certificates. The School of Health Professions offers degree programs in athletic training; clinical laboratory science; clinical services management; health sciences; occupational therapy; physical therapy; rehabilitation sciences; physician assistant studies; speechlanguage pathology; audiology; communication sciences and disorders; speech, language, and hearing sciences; molecular pathology; clinical practice management; and rehabilitation counseling.

The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences strives to education the next generation of scientists and health-related professionals in a dynamic and productive research environment that fosters creativity and discovery.  Located adjacent to the Texas Tech campus, the school offers four degree programs in Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Public Health.  

The School of Nursing offers a variety of degree programs in which students can earn their bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree, as well as post-masters certificates.
