LAW 7410 - Caprock Regional Public Defender Clinic II

4 Semester Credit Hours

Prerequisites: LAW 6339, LAW 6357, LAW 6416, LAW 7409. The clinic will provide court appointed legal representation to criminal defendants and juvenile respondents for the courts of the participating rural counties of the South Plains region. Students will apply their legal education to all aspects of criminal representation including investigation, interviewing clients and witnesses, legal research, legal writing, negotiations, and all courtroom trial skills. The classroom component will continue the student’s study of criminal law and procedure focusing on skills development, ethics, and case strategy in real on-going criminal matters.
