CHEM 1307 - Principles of Chemistry I

3 Semester Credit Hours
TCCNS: [CHEM 1311, 1411] Prerequisite: CHEM 1301  or meet CHEM 1307 placement criteria of the Chemistry Placement Exam. A study of fundamental concepts of chemistry including nomenclature, states of matter, the periodic table and periodic trends, chemical reactions, atomic structure, chemical bonding, molecular structure, and the properties of gases, liquids, solutions and solids. This course is recommended for students who plan careers in the physical and biological sciences as well as medicine and engineering. Partially fulfills core Life and Physical Sciences requirement when coupled with CHEM 1107.
