Business Administration, M.B.A. / Pharm.D.

About the Business Administration Dual Degree Program

The student will earn both the Pharm.D. and M.B.A. degrees during the four years of pharmacy school. This degree track produces outstanding pharmacists with greater insight into the intricacies of healthcare management systems. Students admitted to this M.B.A. program with a concentration in health organization management begin the course of study in the summer before the first year of pharmacy school. Business courses are offered in Lubbock during the first summer of study, and online the second summer. Areas of study include accounting, management strategy, business decision-making skills and methods, business information systems, and other core skills in the business curriculum. For a more specific knowledge of the organizational context in which healthcare is provided, students complete courses concentrating in health organization management. Acceptance is required by both programs prior to pursuing a dual degree. The Rawls College of Business provides Microsoft Office Excel Specialist certification. This certification is required for graduation. All MBA programs are lock-step and offered online; please work with the MBA advisor for course scheduling.
