About the Applied Linguistics Graduate Minor
Applied Linguistics is offered as a minor for students who may find that either second language acquisition studies or second language instruction studies (or a combination) a useful complement to their major area of work. A doctoral minor consists of 18 hours of applied linguistics (LING) courses offered through the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures, as approved by the Program Director of Applied Linguistics. A minor at the master’s level consists of 6 hours of applied linguistics courses, as approved by the Program Director of Applied Linguistics.
Courses in the applied linguistics program include but are not limited to the following: LING 5312 , LING 5320 , LING 5322 , LING 5325 , LING 5327 , LING 5330 , LING 5332 , LING 5336 , LING 5340 , LING 5382 (repeatable), LING 5383 (repeatable).
