About the Mechanical Engineering, BS: Aerospace Concentration
Aerospace is a growing and popular field in engineering that focuses on the design, development, testing, and operation of aircraft and spacecraft. This concentration area creates the opportunity for students to achieve a basic level of understanding in this field across several courses, projects, and/or internship opportunities. Students within Mechanical Engineering can apply for this optional concentration once joining the department from the Foundational Engineering program. Students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours in the concentration area. Students may also substitute one 3 hour course with ME 4000 for participation in an approved Aerospace internship. All course substitutions are to be approved by the Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies in Mechanical Engineering.
