About the Commercial Real Estate Undergraduate Certificate

The Commercial Real Estate Certificate Program is designed to prepare undergraduate business majors for careers in the commercial real estate industry, equipping them with skills in commercial brokerage, appraisals, property management and real estate portfolio management. Each of the four required courses combines academic topics with opportunities to pursue industry-recognized technologies, certifications, and licensing programs.

Required Course (3 hours):

FIN 3332 - Real Estate Fundamentals 3 Semester Credit Hours

Choose two of the following (6 hours):

FIN 3334 - Real Estate Finance 3 Semester Credit Hours
FIN 3335 - Property Technology 3 Semester Credit Hours
FIN 3393 - Real Estate Law 3 Semester Credit Hours
FIN 4333 - Real Estate Appraisal 3 Semester Credit Hours
FIN 4382 - Internship in Finance 3 Semester Credit Hours *

Choose one of the following (3 hours):

FIN 4335 - Real Estate Investments 3 Semester Credit Hours
FIN 4336 - Urban Land Development 3 Semester Credit Hours
* The internship (FIN 4382) must be related to the commercial real estate industry and approved by either (1) the Area Coordinator for the Area of Finance or (2) the Undergraduate Real Estate Advisor.
