Theatre Arts and Dance Minors
Students working toward one of the four minors in theatre arts or dance must complete a minimum of 18-24 hours of specific coursework. Hours applied to the minor area of study may not include courses used to fulfill requirements in the student’s major. Because each minor takes at least four long semesters to complete, students should begin the minor in theatre arts or dance as early as possible in their academic career. Prospective minors should meet with the theatre arts and dance advisor as soon as possible for course information regarding prerequisites, availability, etc.
About the Theatre Arts – Design Visualization Undergraduate Minor
The Theatre Arts – Design Visualization minor captures the SoTD courses related to visualization of design deliverables. This minor amplifies a skillset that can empower students to take on work as a professional design assistant, concept artist, or range of opportunities within the entertainment industry. This minor focuses on best practice, digital software, imaging techniques, 3D rendering, and new media modeling to give students a comprehensive skill base to help translate ideas into reality. This minor could pair with any industry that could benefit from theater’s unique disciplinary approach to storytelling, world building, and creative problem solving.
