LAW 6341 - Land Use Law Land Use examines the basic concepts of law relating to the constitutional limitations on property ownership and its evolution. The course will address the history of nuisance, zoning, constitutional issues that arise around land management, subdivisions, urban redevelopment, affordable housing, smart growth, and limitations on the police powers authority for land use development as dictated by Fourteenth Amendment Due Process, Equal Protection, First Amendment and Fifth Amendment taking jurisprudence. Finally, the course evaluates how land use decisions affect environmental quality and impacts.
