About the Nutritional Sciences Master’s Program
The Master of Science in Nutritional Sciences (NS) prepares students to continue on with a Ph.D. to be qualified for faculty and post-doctorate positions as well as careers with various corporations. This degree requires a minimum of 33 semester hours (thesis option) or 36 hours (non-thesis option) for students in the basic M.S. program. The Department of Nutritional Sciences offers a practice-based online M.S. degree for students who are in the combination M.S./Dietetic Internship program at Texas Tech University, a dietetic internship without an associated M.S. degree, students who already hold Registered Dietitian credentials, or have a DPD verification statement. This is a 33-hour, non-thesis degree. Courses must be chosen in consultation with an NS graduate advisor or dietetic internship director.
